When Leejay first heard Rahzel the "Godfather of Noyze," he instantly fell in love with beatboxing. With the immense amount of motivation, Leejay perfected his skills and self-developed and marketed himself. Being his own boss, he researched the history and technique. Soon after, he ate, slept and breathed nothing but beatboxing. Promoting himself by posting his beatboxing audio clips on the internet paid off. Michael "Fii" Krappel, Coordinator of the First Austrian Beatbox Championship heard the clips and was so impressed by his ability that he personally invited Leejay to share his talent at the competition in Vienna, Austria. He flew back home to Sacramento as the Austrian Beatbox Champion of 2003.
